"Rapture" is a song by the American pop/rock band Blondie from their fifth studio album, Autoamerican (). In January , "Rapture" was released as the second and final single from the album. The song became their fourth and last single to reach number one on the U.S. Billboard Hot chart, where it stayed for two weeks. It was the first number-one song in the U.S. to feature rap vocals.

Aug 28,  · "Rapture" is a combination of disco, funk, and hip hop with the rap section forming an extended coda. The song title "Rapture" served to indicate this element. While it was not the first single featuring rapping to be commercially successful, it was the first one to top the charts.

Rapture Riders Import, CD Single Blondie Format: Audio CD. out I wouldn't have guessed that The Doors would go well with Blondie; their styles are so different but listening to this you can really imagine Jim Morrison singing this with Debbie Harry and the lyrics flow into one another quite nicely. I love this single! Read 5/5(1).
